Our Stop in Butler PA. Of Course!

Butler PA - July 26 - 29, 2016

After leaving Lancaster. we motored up to Butler PA.

....But first, we had a small disagreement with a construction site guard-rail.

The scenery is gorgeous, I loved seeing hills again!

What a wonderful time, seeing old friends and touring the area I knew so well.  I lived there for 25 years but I've been gone so long, the area seemed foreign.

I had to re-orient myself to a place I thought I knew so well.  Time was short so I didn't call many friends or visit many places. I spent a little time at Morraine State Park but wasn't able to visit one of my favorite parks - McConnells Mill State Park.  All hold good memories for me.  Next time.

 Rose Hill Campground next to
Moraine State Park.

We drove up to Harrisville on the chance that Penn Gold was still there.  To my delight, it was, and hasn't changed a bit!  The inside was the same as always and they still make all their own ice cream.

Truly it's the BEST!

I met my excellent friend Ellen at Timbercreek Taproom near Grove City for lunch.  The food was fantastic and the company even better.  We connected as if no time had passed. Although we were friends when I lived in Butler and I keep in touch on FaceBook, there's nothing like meeting in person to reminisce and catch up.  Thanks Ellen, time was too short, but we packed a lot into the time we had together.

I met Bill Guetthoff (who hadn't changed a bit) and we visited my former boss Joe Dickinson.  He fell recently so he's recuperating but I hope he's up and about soon. He's pretty much the same Joe I knew, and he's quite active on Facebook, so I follow his songs and memories, hopes and dreams.

The highlight of my trip was the reunion with former co-workers from the Butler PA Social Security office. Sandy Guetthoff organized the reunion and wouldn't tell me who was coming, so it was quite a surprise seeing friends I hadn't seen for years! My life was impacted by these  all these folks and I thank them for coming out for this very special time!

The stars of my visit were Bill And Sandy Guetthoff. Thanks to Bill for visiting Joe with me and to Sandy for organizing our get-together.  You folks are amazing, truly.

Let's do this again sometime.

Thanks for the banana bread Sandy - Yum!

See You Soon!  Next Stop, OHIO!

Onward to Lancaster!

July 22, 2015- July 26, 2016

After we took care of all our errands and doctor checkups in Whitney Point, we headed down to Lancaster PA and stayed at Beacon Hill Campground in Intercourse PA.  We met up with my daughter Nina from
 Philadelphia PA and her friend Laura.

The Amish help each other in times of need, shun capitalism by dressing and living plainly, reject most modern conveniences, and practice their Christianity in the purest way.  They forgive, not sue.  I admire their lifestyle so much yet it baffles me that they still have critics.

Had lunch with Nina and she made me buy

Not Your Father's Root Beer.

So good!

We visited Central Market for some goodies.

We went across the street one night to see the ducks.

While driving around, we saw this!

We went to dinner at the Fireside Tavern with Nina, Laura and her boyfriend Kian and her mom Patty and husband Andrew.  The food was great, the company was totally enjoyable. It was a really great time to end our stay in Lancaster. I wish we had stayed longer, but I promise we'll be back.

On Our Way to Whitney Point NY

July 11, 2016
We were finally released from Seffner FL on Monday and decided to make our way up to Whitney Point NY.

We all know this place, yeah.

OMG hills!

We boondocked along the way and made it to Chenango Valley State Park on Friday.We stayed for a week, but we spent most of our time going to doctor appointments and the warehouse.  We took back bedding that came with the coach, and took out things we wished we had brought.  Most of the time, we just did errands since we don't expect to be back in the area anytime soon.

We went past the house, but drove quickly...

Do I miss it?

No...

Seffner FL - finally!

June 3, 2016

We picked up the car and stayed a few more days at Lakeside RV Park in Livingston LA.  It was a quiet and relaxing few days because the next few weeks would be plenty busy.

So once again headed toward Seffner FL, fingers crossed that nothing else would hinder our travels.

We arrived at Lazydays on Friday June 3 and parked our motorhome in their parking lot and went to a motel for a few days.  On Saturday, our 2 beagles and cat went to the kennel PartOfTheFamilyKennels.com so we could give our full attention to our consultant on Monday.  They were so excited they didn't even say goodbye!  Meanwhile, we found out that our RV refrigerator was not working on propane, so we emptied it out and packed the fridge at the motel and a cooler for the rest.  And added the fridge to the list of repairs.

We spent time at the campground

And the repair bays

Endured lots of rain

We waited for the warranty company came out to inspect the coach and they approved of almost everything.  So we waited while parts were ordered and the work completed.  From the Repair Shop to Chassis Shop and Cabinetry Shop, everyone did a great job.

We saw this:

I was curious so I looked it up.  Turns out it's a mobile eyeglass lab run by the Glazer Family Foundation which was created by Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner Malcolm Glazer.

On July 11, we were finally off to
Whitney Point NY.

More in Baton Rouge

May 16 - June 1, 2016.

Well we went to Lakeside RV Park a few days after we arrived at the Ford dealership.  At first, our service manager didn't think it was too serious and hoped we'd be out of there by the end of the week but after the technicians has time to look at the car, they determined that the transmission was totally burned up.  They talked to Corporate to see if they should repair or replace the transmission and clutch.  Turns out they decided to replace everything, which is good (and quicker).

We rented a car and moved out to Lakeside RV Park in Livingston, Louisiana.  After the problem we had with the slides and CoachNet sent someone out, Lakeside Park pulled some strings and let us stay in the monthly section on the lake.  So we moved the next day and settled in until the car was ready.  We also moved our appointment with LazyDays to Monday June 6.
We're hoping to keep that appt!

It was a great decision as it was much better than dry-camping in the back lot of the Ford dealership.  We loved the place and made a lot of friends. One day we took one of our dogs to the vet to renew his Rabies shot and met our neighbors from across the way.  Small world...

Two pair of geese decided to make the lake their home, 1 pair had a couple babies.  They all stayed together, then one day they were gone.

Am I am posting about food?
Because I saw a Tasty video and it was so good!

```````````````
We finally got our car back and stayed a few more days.
We loved Lakeside RV Park and will always have fond memories of the park and the people we met.
While we were there, I relaxed and
did my first Tangle.
We ate shrimp and crawfish.
The last day there, our neighbor Deborah brought us Boudin balls and sausage.  I feel terrible we didn't sample the local cuisine sooner!  All the more reason to return, as it was most delicious!
Onward to Tampa!
And the adventure continues!
